When and How Much Should I Pray?
We should strive to pray the Holy Rosary as frequently as we can - weekly, or daily is great! We can pray it first thing in the morning, last thing before we fall asleep, or during any quiet time during our day...alone, in a group, with family or with a friend. When pressed for time, we can even pray it while driving, on our way to work or church.

If you are new to the Rosary or any time you are dealing with a short time or attention span - as with young children - you may choose to pray just one Mystery, which takes about 5 minutes. Although all 20 Mysteries may be prayed within a day or at one sitting (which would take well over an hour), most people pray one set of 5 Mysteries (which takes about 20 minutes) according to the day of the week, as follows.

On this day:             Pray the:

Sunday .................. Glorious Mysteries (Resurrection & what followed)

Monday .................. Joyful Mysteries   (Jesus' incarnation & childhood)

Tuesday ................. Sorrowful Mysteries   (Jesus' Passion & death)

Wednesday ............ Glorious Mysteries   (Resurrection & what followed)

Thursday ................ Luminous Mysteries   (Jesus' baptism & ministry)

Friday .................... Sorrowful Mysteries   (Jesus' Passion & death)

Saturday ................ Joyful Mysteries   (Jesus' incarnation & childhood)
